Crowns

A second life for your smile

Crowns are used to protect, cover, and restore the shape of your teeth. They can be made of metals, porcelain, resin, and ceramics. They generally do not require special care over time, other than regular good oral hygiene.

What does it consist on?

If you need to protect or replace a damaged tooth, you must first rule out any necessary pre-treatment.

The tooth receiving the crown is filed down on the top and sides. This will make room for this. The amount of tooth that is filed depends on the type of crown that is required. All-metal dental crowns are thinner and do not require as much tooth extraction as all-porcelain or porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. Usually a temporary crown is placed at the beginning, and at the next visit a permanent crown made to measure for the patient.
